This was tested on Ubuntu 9.04 running on a Dell OptiPlex 960.
A simple handset was used with the mic and earphone jacks connected to the sockets in the front (above the USB slots).

Yeah, I got to this by myself, but the problem is that when I use any other software that outputs audio, Skype stops working. Getting really annoyed with Ubuntu. Damn, how stupid is the issue like that - stuff like audio should work out of the box? So many years of development and.. nothing? Sad.
